Review: Thierry Mugler Angel Men Pure Malt

I promised a review on Chanel Allure Homme Sport, but im not done with it yet, still some areas to explore on that. But i have something that i've been working on for a long time and today, i will be reviewing the infamous Pure Malt by Thierry Mugler fragrance house.

*Very nice box with a classy look and gold printings

*Back view of the box.Gotta have that gold star!

Okay then, on to the fragrance; this is actually a limited edition flanker to the original Angel Men or A*Men. What they did with this was they actually put the original A*Men into oak casks used to age Whiskey (Yes, u got it right, Whiskey oak casks where the liquor is left to age into perfection for a period of time before entering the tummy of the filthy rich drunkards)

And it resulted in this very sophisticated, dark and rich version of A*Men. Right off the bat, this scent smells like a mix of wild berries and whiskey poured all over the wild berries. First thing's first when i say whiskey, i dont mean the smell of alcohol (coz alcohol smells bad). When i say whiskey, it means the flavor of the whiskey which makes whiskey tastes like whiskey (hope u get the gist of it). The opening very much smells boozy, with the cherries and a little bit of caramel which normally lasts for around 30 minutes to 1 hour.

When it gets to the dry down, this is where it shines. The dry down is absolutely fascinating with chocolate, caramel, patchouli and whiskey notes (i do get a lil bit of coffee sometimes). It smells very sweet, dark and i must say very very sophisticated. If there's one word i'd say for the dry down, it's SEXY. I don't know if many girls would love the sweet dry down, but if they do, this will definitely work for them. For me, i think the dry down is great and when i first smelled it, i went like this:

*The chocolate and caramel is just very natural and very well balanced. I can smell it all day and not get sick of it coz it's does not smell synthetic and cheap

U don't get a lot of people using this scent, so u have a lower chance of smelling like someone's ex bf (which is not good if u set ur eyes on some hot chick and ended up smelling like her loser ex bf). Events? This shit is a winter fragrance, so i would recommend using it at night where it's not so hot and humid out there. It's good for a night out, club, beach, pubs, casual meetings, prom, dates and when u just go for a walk and cuddling session at the park with your girl. It might sound very versatile, but this thing is a BOMB! So please go light on the trigger (that is, if u can still find a bottle of this coz the stock is dwindling, hehehehehehehehe...it sells for around 150-200USD at ebay now). I would say 2 sprays at most at the torso and one on each arm when u're outside. When u're indoors, only resort to 2 sprays on the torso. You DONT wanna cloy everybody in the room and having people thinking like:
'WTF is this dimwit wearing!he's cloying me to death smelling like he just dipped his ass into a caramel chocolate pond'

Girls do compliment on it though, but again, don't over-spray coz too much of a good thing can be bad. =D

If u're confident that the chicks around u love smelling caramel and chocolate (which chick don't?unless she used to be a dude).

So let's just take a final look at it before moving on to the ratings:

Scent: 9/10
Projection: 10/10 (this is a BOMB!it leaps out and catches attention very much, especially in warm places)
Longevity: 10/10 (i get at least 10 hours with this monster)
Versatility: 6/10 (u don't get to wear this everywhere coz of the strong projection)
Overall Smell: 10/10 (absolutely unique scent, very special and attractive)

oops, i'm going 2 proceed with serious work now. Thanks for reading and do come back for more. Do give comments and feel free to ask me if there's anything u need to know.

Peace

An Introduction to Fragrances

I believe that each fragrance is produced for different purposes, office, night out, cuddling moments, high-class exclusive events, sports, casual wear, whatever. Some can make girls go bananas over you (and guys too, but they might be some homo fags) and vice versa. Or, some will scare away chicks (those old teacher's scent, grandfather scent, get-u-smelling-like-a-bug-spray scent, kit-leng kia scents).

I'm not much of a true fragrance collector as I only collect fragrances that suits my liking. I don't have much for now, but I'm sure I'll be getting more in the future (YSL La Nuit De L'homme and Creed Green Irish Tweed is next on the list).

An introduction to you people who are new to fragrances, first of all, I must insist that these fragrances do serve it's purpose as long as you pick them up carefully with lots of research. You can get a lot of information and reviews on sites such as Basenotes.

Moving on to the type of fragrances, there are several common types which are gourmand (sweet scents), aquatics, green, oriental, citrus and so much more in the market. Talking about market, the fragrances you get to see at Parkson, Tangs, Takashimaya, Metrojaya in most of the malls around Malaysia are Designer fragrances. Designer houses are those clothing brands such as Chanel, Versace, DKNY, FCUK, YSL, Dunhill, Elizabeth Arden, Burberry, C.Dior, CK, and the list goes on (u get the gist of it). Which means that these fragrances are mass produced by the designer brands to suit their designs, occasions and whatever shit events they have in mind. Next there's the 'supermarket fragrances' (well that's the way I label them as) are those brands like Enchanteur(whichever the way they spell it, idk), Playboy, Adidas, Dashing etc2 are cheaper ones with (of course) cheaper smelling scents. Finally, there's the niche fragrances, produced by companies that only produces fragrances ie, Creed, Le Labo, Bond No.9, etc. If you want natural scents, strange scents, out of Earth scents, they do produce them, it's just that you gotta go search for it all over since the local fragrance market is not as vast as the foreign market. But these do come with a price. =)

Owh, there's also the RM10 stuffs labeled designer fragrances (cap ayam, cap itik, cap belalang fragrances). These are the most annoying ones as they last an hour and you gotta reapply them when they fade away (and they smell really fake).

Well, some of you might say this:

'Teehehehehehe..i'll just buy the cheapos and wear them, as long as i think i smell good, who cares wtf im wearing!F*ck u jack!Go on with your expensive shits like an idiot!i can get the same scents cheap. 'Mengapa Bayar Lebih?Belilah dgn harga borong!'

sorry Myd*n, im nt saying u sell cheapos.

Well, they might be cheap, but who knows what these nutjobs put in those products. Think for urself, have those China-made Nikki, Neki, Pooma, Leepok, Panesonic, Sonny, Nokla stuffs out perform the originals?

Okay, so to start off the fragrance section for my blog, I'll introduce the scent that I think is hands down, the best I've had so far.

Chanel Allure Homme Sport!review coming up as soon as I've dissected this scent.

So much for now, adios!

Happy Father's Day

Father's Day is celebrated throughout the world on the third Sunday of June. This year it was on the 20th June 2010 in Malaysia. Father's Day I don't think needs much explanation, its a day to honor our fathers and celebrate fatherhood. I was at a mental block on what to get my dad on this day. I was thinking of something nice 'cause this present would be a combo for his birthday also (his birthday was on the 24th June)

While I was browsing through razer official site for my future mouse when my dad made a remark "Idiot la my mouse, always jammed". They both just clicked! Haha so i decided to get a mouse for dad on his day. Kuching did sell Razer mice but they were around RM20-30 more expensive than that of KL for example. I decided to go on lowyat to check for any offer. After a while i stumbled upon bruceleestore, a seller which sells gaming peripherals at a reasonable price. After a few pms, sms and a call, he introduced me to which I decided to get for my dad:

Razer Abyssus Mirror Edition

This is a review blog so here goes:
It costs RM129.00+RM10.00 with shipping. The seller was very helpful and fast on delivering. =D

  • High gloss mirror finish
  • 3500dpi Razer Precision™ 3.5G infrared sensor
  • 1000Hz Ultrapolling™ / 1ms response time
  • Mechanical dpi/polling rate switches
  • On-The-Fly Sensitivity™ adjustment
  • No Drift Control
  • Always-On™ mode
  • Ultra-large buttons
  • 16-bit ultra-wide data path
  • 60-120 inches per second and 15g of acceleration
  • Three independently programmable Hyperesponse™ buttons
  • Ambidextrous design
  • Scroll wheel with 24 individual click positions
  • Zero-acoustic Ultraslick™ Teflon feet
  • Seven-foot, lightweight, non-tangle cord
  • Approx. size in mm: 115(L) x 63(W) x 40(H)
Basically its specialty are the two switches under the mouse; one on-the-fly dpi switch gives the user their choice of 450, 1800, or 3500dpi and one polling rate switch allowing instant adjustment from a standard 125hz to 1000hz.

DPI refers to dots per inch. Standard mice nowadays come with 1000dpi. The more dpi you have for your mouse, the more sensitive it is when you move your cursor. 3500dpi is definitely not to shabby

Polling rate on the other hand is
the rate (of how fast) a mouse cursor can be updated. The default USB polling rate is 125 Hz, which means the mouse cursor can only be updated every 8 milliseconds. But with this mouse it has 3 polling rate to choose from: 125, 500, and 1000 Hz.

Polling rate Response time
125 Hz = 8 ms
500 Hz = 2 ms
1000 Hz =1 ms

A driver is needed to enable the user to tweak other sensitivity (eg: double clicking speed, mouse axis), program its 3 hyperstone buttons and it even lets you decide which hand user are you (left or right). You can download it at the razer support center.

The mouse itself is pretty light, looks awesome, but when you feel the mouse for the first time, you can't help but 'ooohh' at its comfort. It is easily click able, no jamming issues here, its functionality and aesthetic components are amazing. Feels like I should pat myself on the back for purchasing a nice gadget.

Here are more pictures of it

A closer look

Look at the shiny logo "oohhh" haha geek alert

My dad doesn't play much games though, Mafia Wars on facebook is his thing now but I guess every gamer needs a decent mouse dont'cha think? He was all smiles when he got this from me. Haha giving is better than receiving so they say. I couldn't agree more.

This is my first ever review post so go easy on the comment ok? =D

Anyongseyo! Hello there, welcome to our blog. Dexter and I (Jack) have been planning this for quite some time but we couldn't start this shit coz...well..we have some badak stuffs to do.

OKOK we admit that we're just too lazy to focus on stuffs like these. But, here we are, getting on our very first diary on our stuffs on entertainment, lifestyle and stuffs we get our hands on. Just for a start, i don't know how we stumble upon this name, but do appreciate it as we come up with a lot of good stuffs accidentally. xD*wtf*

Still, we hope that u guys will enjoy reading our posts from now onwards till the day we die
(hopefully this project works out just fine)

Enough on the intro i guess, i've found some great stuffs when i was spending my remaining days as an undergrad at Universiti Malaysia Terung (UMT). But i'll start with a simple one first (to give way to the other badak, dont wanna crowd the blog with my boring shit)

Things that we can only find in our beloved country, funny stuffs we stumble upon. I found this at FST (just in front of the foyer, watever u call it). Toilet insufficiency crisis lately?

In case u cant read the label, it writes ' Tandas Sedang Dicuci '
Poor tree, it needs some scrubbing from the makciks now. Be well, tree.
